WHAT WE BELIEVE

The International Church of Prague is evangelical in persuasion. As such, we accept the revelation of God given in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible and expressed in such historic statements of the Christian Church as the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed.

We embrace the following areas of teaching, with which there is general agreement among evangelical Christians both historically and presently. However, we desire to allow for freedom of conviction about doctrinal matters not specifically delineated in the following statement of faith, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the unity of this body or the ministry to which God has called us.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, perfect in love and righteousness, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in power and worthy of worship and obedience.

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man (like us, but sinless); that He died to atone for our sins; that He was raised from the dead bodily, ascended into heaven where He will remain until He returns to judge all at the last day.

We believe that the Holy Spirit, being one with the Father and Son, indwells all believers at the moment of salvation, enabling and interceding on our behalf.

We believe the Bible is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, inerrant in the original manuscripts and possessing God's authority in all matters of faith and life.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that we are all born with a sinful nature, failing short of being morally or spiritually acceptable to God in thought, word and deed.

We believe that a person is saved solely through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ of the will of God; and that he is thereby justified before God, born of the Holy Spirit and placed into God's family, a relationship in which he is eternally secure.

We believe in the visible and bodily return to earth of Jesus Christ to raise the dead, judge the world and establish His eternal kingdom; and that those who are believers shall live with God forever, while unbelievers shall be eternally separated from Him.

We believe that the Church is the living Body of Christ on earth, Christ being its Head; that the Body is composed of all those who have received Him as Savior and Lord; and that the local church exists as an expression of the universal Church to exalt God, edify believers and evangelize nonbelievers. The sacraments celebrated in this church shall be Baptism and Communion. Participation in the sacraments is on the basis of faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to intentionally build relational bridges with others so that they may discover the joy of following Jesus.

We do this by Giving Grace to others as Jesus has given and undeserved love to us...

  • Giving GRACE Like Jesus

  • God’s View – Look for His Masterpiece beneath the stains on the surface

  • Radical Hospitality – Share meals together

  • Active Listening – Be interested in their story

  • Care Personally – Serve like Jesus

  • Expect God to Work – Love as if Jesus is right there with you (Because He is)

OUR PURPOSE AND VISION

ICP is a community of life-giving Christ Followers who walk together in the Holy Spirit to Love God, Live Truth and Give Grace; building relational bridges so that others may know Jesus.

Jesus called us to follow Him. We begin to follow by trusting Jesus as our Lord and only Savior. But following Him involves Him transforming us to become more like Him. We believe these 4 values encompass what it means to follow Jesus.

  • Loving God - We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

  • Living Truth - We are to take the truth of God's Word and live it daily.

  • Giving Grace - We are called to love others as Jesus loved us.

  • Walk Together in the Spirit - We need one another. Our loving relationships with other believers demonstrates to people around us that we are Jesus followers.
